Stonar School

You are here: Welcome Prospectus content Co-education

Boys have now joined years 7 and 8 and the school will be fully co-educational by 2019.

Facilities and the curriculum have been comprehensively recalibrated with substantial upgrades across the site and improvements to facilities in sport, riding, the swimming pool and throughout classrooms. A fully refurbished boys boarding wing has been opened in Hart House, combining modern and comfortable rooms with the quirks and charms of a Grade II listed farmhouse. A new classroom block opened in Spring 2017 to house Languages, Humanities and a brand new ICT suite.

"It is exciting to see the impact of all the investment that has been made in our facilities with upgrades in so many areas coming to fruition, ensuring the school continues to be well-equipped to deliver a modern and well-resourced education," added Dr Divall. "There is a vibrant and confident feel about Stonar and I am looking forward to a successful future as a co-educational school."

Stonar will be growing the new co-ed cohort with mixed intakes into Years 7, 8 and 9 in 2017 and welcomes all enquiries from parents of boys. Alongside this, we will also be opening up our Sixth Form to boys in 2017. Stonar's Prep School took the decision to go co-educational in 2011 which has been very successful and boys now make up almost 50% of the total intake.
