Celebrating Academic Achievement

Our Academic Awards Evening was a wonderful celebration of the academic achievement of our pupils, recognised both for outstanding achievement and progress.

Parents, staff and pupils mingled over drinks and canapes, to a delightful background of piano music from two of our young accomplished musicians. The formal part of the evening was introduced by Head, Dr Sally Divall followed by a keynote speech from Senior Research Fellow, Dr Duncan Sparrow.

Dr Duncan Sparrow, who leads a team of researchers in the field of birth heart defects, delivered a warm and engaging talk. He spoke about his research, followed by words on five key attributes to stand anyone in good stead in any career field; passion, communication skills, discovering your niche, working with experienced mentors - and finally luck.

Awards were presented both to those who have achieved exceptional academic results and to those who have made particularly good progress. Alison Rivers, Director of Studies, introduced each pupil, praising their individual achievements and highlighting their notable successes.

The evening wrapped up with words of thanks from Deputy Head Girl, Alice Sheppard.
