Stonar votes 'Remain'

Stonar's EU referendum voters delivered a decisive vote in favour of the Remain side in Tuesday's EU school referendum.

With over a 70% turnout of all Stonar adults and children, the pupils proved eager to register their vote as they queued patiently at the ballot box.The result delivered an emphatic 77% in favour of Remain.

Earlier in the week, seminars and assemblies had been held to present the key points of both sides. 'It's great to see our pupils so keen to take part in the political process', said Stonar's Head of English, Jamie Dyde. 'Understanding that politics definitely affects young people and that everyone can have a say, are perhaps the two most important lessons of Tuesday's referendum.'
