Year 9 in Cheddar

The weather could not have been better for Year 9's Geography trip to the spectacular Cheddar Gorge.

Pupils had the opportunity to view the spectacular steep rock faces and limestone scenery from the comfort of an open-topped bus trip. They then had a guided tour around Gough's Cave, studying caverns, stalactites and stalagmites and learning about Cheddar Man.

The focus of the trip was on the positive and negative impacts of tourism on a honeypot site and in the afternoon pupils collected primary data that they will be able to display and interpret in the classroom.
