Hickstead Successes

Stonar's Hickstead riders were in sharp form at the National Schools & Pony Club Show Jumping Championships last weekend.

The Junior team of Sophie Spratling, Millie Hammond and Hattie Blokland jumped brilliantly to go through to the final. Sophie had an unlucky pole down, Millie's less experienced pony had a couple of stops, and Hattie pulled off a fantastic clear to place the team 9th overall.  Hattie's clear took her to the jump off for individual placings (one of only four clears out of 30 competitors) where with just one rail down, she gained 4th place individually.

The Senior team of Imogen Humphrey, Ella Garlick and Lucy Swift finished their first round with a total score of only 4 faults. It was a very hotly contested class with 8 teams in the same position as Stonar, jumping off for the remaining 6 places in the final. Ella was nominated to jump off for the team; unfortunately another 4 faults placed the team 7th, just outside the qualifiers for the final, so that was the end of the road for the Senior team.

Congratulations to all who took part and to Stonar Equestrian's acting Assistant Director of Riding Ellie Halsey, for her tireless support and coaching
