Aquathlon fun at Stonar

Boys and girls from schools in Bath, Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire recently competed in Stonar's Aquathlon, set in our glorious grounds.

A-team competitors completed a 200m swim in the indoor pool, followed immediately by a 1000m cross-country run - all against the clock. B teams completed a shorter course of a 100m swim and 500m run. The event is in its sixth year, and for the first time, boys teams were also invited to compete.

With 170 pupils taking part, the standard of competition was high and particular mention must go to Monkton Prep, Paragon and Westonbirt Prep, who fielded very strong teams. Kingswood Prep, King Edwards Junior School, St Margaret's, St Francis and Stonar also put up strong competition, with parents and school sports coaches on hand to cheer their teams.

Stonar's Tommy Criddle put in an excellent performance to gain 4th place in the highly competitive U10A boys' class. Our U11B girls team also worked hard, coming third in their category.

"We were delighted to welcome so many schools and competitors to Stonar to join us in what was a highly successful event. As ever, it is the pupils who make these events, and it was wonderful to see them all pushing themselves hard and enjoying it."
