Millie & Bob are NSEA Champions

Year 7 pupil Millie and her pony Bob became 'Arena Eventing' (Jumping with Style) .75m Champions at the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Championships last weekend.

In Arena Eventing, riders complete a show jumping section, and then pass through a timing beam into the XC phase which has an optimum time and includes angled rails, arrowheads and other simulated XC fences. Style marks are also awarded for horse/rider combination.

In what was a close run competition, Millie and Bob produced a faultless round to clinch the Championship, ahead of the Reserve Champion representing Kings of Wessex School.

Following Millie's win, mother Sarah said: "What an amazing and exciting day for us and the Stonar show jumpers. We couldn't have done it without the help and coaching of the Stonar Equestrian team".

In the .85m Show Jumping class, Stonar's team of Georgia Spratling, Sophie Spratling, Lucy Swift and Ella Garlick were Reserve Champions. Ella Garlick was also placed 6th individually in the .90m County Show Jumping Championship class.

Another Stonar team, Sophia Maughan, Imogen Humphrey, Laura Warren, Dominica Rogan Pfaff, were placed 5th in the 1m Show Jumping.

All the riders were very grateful to Stonar's Assistant Director of Riding, Helen Barton-Smith for her support and coaching at the Championships.
