Success for Silver D of E groups

Two groups braved the elements on Exmoor for their Silver D of E assessed expedition.

The fine, dry weather deserted us on Saturday morning and the groups began their expedition in the pouring rain, adding to the challenge of navigating in new terrain, up and down hills with heavy packs. The rain abated by the afternoon and pupils were able to make camp and cook in the dry. Sunday was drier but a storm moved in overnight and the final day started as the first had done, in a downpour. Nevertheless, both groups made their way across open moorland and up and down coastal paths to complete their expedition successfully and with high praise from the assessor for their teamwork and for being a pleasure with which to work.
