Stonar's Festival of Space Science

Stonar's Festival of Space Science has begun, with an 'out of this world' array of cosmic activities for pupils to enjoy.


Just some of the many workshops taking place this week include stargazing and a talk on the sun from West Wiltshire Astronomical Society. A STEM workshop is running for pupils with an engineering challenge of building a communications tower and moon shelter. Pupils also have the chance to enjoy a planeterium show, taking them on a tour of the solar system, in a specially erected Exploradome.  

The full programme of activities includes musical workshops, a solar system art project, a rocket workshop and an orienteering challenge. In addition, pupils are busy putting together a space timeline which is on display in Wiltshire Hall.
