Ganbrook

Ganbrook House, our girls boarding house, is located on the upper floors of the main school building in what was once the home of the Dowager Lady Fuller. There are currently around 35 boarders. The boarding accommodation comprises 17 dorms of varying sizes, with wonderful views to the front over the Wiltshire countryside and lots of interesting nooks and crannies to explore.

The atmosphere in Ganbrook is happy and relaxed, and all the pupils contribute in one way or another to creating the family feel to the house. Saturday night take-aways are popular when all the pupils gather together to watch TV in the common room over a pizza or Chinese meal. All Ganbrook pupils are very supportive of the house and its members contribute in many different ways toward the friendly, sociable atmosphere.

Ganbrook’s houseparent is Mrs Tina Tilley. She has an “open door” policy in the house which means that whilst on duty her door is always open for girls to pop in for a chat or to discuss any problems or concerns they may have. Mrs Julia Harper is the assistant houseparent who works two evenings a week and some weekends. Two resident assistants help with the day-to-day routines in the house.

Ganbrook House definitely has its own special ethos where all pupils are made to feel welcome and at home and part of the community.
